Tim Skubick, a veteran journalist covering Michigan politics, writes on myFOXdetroit.com that Attorney General Mike Cox is employing a campaign strategy “to bleed all the money out of the Pete Hoekstra campaign before the August 3rd primary” by going negative early and often.

Brian Dickerson, a Detroit Free Press columnist, has similar observations, stating “Cox is betting a preemptive strike will stop Hoekstra from ever collecting the funds he needs to mount a counterattack.”
