Pete Hoekstra found time on Wednesday to glad-hand for the cameras about joining wingnut Michele Bachmann’s House Tea Party Caucus, but when it came time to vote on Thursday about restoring unemployment benefits for more than 70,000 Michigan residents and 2.5 million people nationally, Hoekstra was MIA.
He was too busy campaigning for his next job.
If Pete wants to enjoy the benefits of being a member of the US House of Representatives, he should follow-through with his responsibilities.
If he’s not focused on representing Michigan’s 2nd Congressional district, he should step down and let someone else do it.
This is yet another example of how Pete Hoekstra puts his own personal agenda ahead of what’s best for his constituents.
And it’s not like he’ll have some magical transformation if he becomes Governor.
Michigan can, and must, do better!
