Kyle Adams of RealClearPolitics reports two-term Michigan Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow leads Republican former Representative Pete Hoekstra by six points, according to a new poll from EPIC-MRA.
Stabenow was the choice of 48% of those surveyed to Hoekstra’s 42%.
Hoekstra, who finished second to Governor Rick Snyder in the Republican Gubernatorial primary in August 2010, has a ways to go in expanding his visibility. The EPIC-MRA poll indicated 26% said they have a favorable opinion of Hoekstra, 34% are undecided, however 23% said they do not recognize his name. Seventeen percent have an unfavorable opinion. By contrast, 47% have a favorable opinion of Stabenow and 39% have an unfavorable opinion.
Charter school executive Clark Durant, who is running against Hoekstra for the GOP nomination, trails Stabenow by 20%, 51-31.
EPIC-MRA surveyed 600 likely voters from November 13-16. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 4%. To see the entire survey results, click here.
